Downtown Boynton on Ocean Avenue
The amphitheater, library, kids' museum, and CRA event series that make East Ocean the downtown spine.
Centennial Park & Amphitheater at 120 E. Ocean Avenue sits a block from the City Library at 100 E. Ocean and the Schoolhouse Children's Museum at 129 E. Ocean. On market or concert nights, this is the walkable downtown cluster: park once, cross Ocean Avenue, and use the lawn, library, and museum as one civic center.
The Boynton Beach CRA runs the downtown event series locals see most often: Snapshots with Santa, Rock the Plaza, Rock the Marina, Boynton Beach Night Market, and Bon Appetit Boynton Beach. Rock the Plaza is the live-music series, Rock the Marina ties into the waterfront, and the Night Market turns Centennial Park into the evening food-truck-and-music stop.
Centennial Park & Amphitheater at 120 E. Ocean Avenue is the city downtown event lawn and the venue for the Boynton Beach Night Market and First Friday @ 5 free monthly concert series. The amphitheater also hosts CRA-produced events and one-off civic programs through the year. Its East Ocean location puts it within a short walk of City Hall, the City Library, and the Schoolhouse Childrens Museum.
The Schoolhouse Children's Museum & Learning Center sits at 129 E. Ocean Avenue, in the city's restored 1913 schoolhouse building. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is $10 for children over 12 months, $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, and free for members and infants. EBT cardholders pay $4 per person for up to four family members under Museums for All.
The Boynton Beach City Library is at 100 E. Ocean Avenue, inside the city civic complex. Hours run Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The library is closed Sundays and for major holidays; check before holiday weekends. It runs free programs in adult learning, kids literacy, tech help, book clubs, and author events.
